A paper's dream turning waste

A paper dreamt
of living his life full
on his harvest
longed to become

-a sacred book in an altar of god
-a notepad on a scientists shelf
-a notebook in a child's grasp
-a billet doux in the hands of a lover

His dream crashed
when he was rolled into a tissue
waiting for his fate
to land up as a waste.

A crumpled napkin
wet with tears
soggy and torn
beyond repair.

Found his way to the dustbin
saw many a friends rest within
felt proud that he was not low
he carried tears and stains of kohl.

Many his friends were maltreated
stained with unthinkable
with stench so fierce
happy he soothed a pained heart.
Slept happily and settled to rot.

Some say he’s half man half fish, others say he’s more of a seventy/thirty split. Either way he’s a fishy bastard. Google
