Rain dance

Art by Nik Helbig

Rain drops, a thousand, tickling my skin...
Diamond needles prickling melted down...
Lifting my face, my hair plastered to my chin,
The tiny pricks glided, flowing around...

The moonless sky with dark clouds spread,
The trees dark, their leaves bowed
The waves thumping, crashing ahead
The sand damp, foot prints bold...

The stage set for light and dance,
The sea set the music wild
The waves bobbling as if in a trance,
The crabs snuggling, watched the play live...

At one, I learnt crawling was fun. At forty one, I still feel crawling is fun #blamemykneesnotme
