I wanna sleep

The way I walked non stop
Fearing that the path would drop.
one path leading to another,
It had its share of twists and turns.

Whether it was crooked or straight,
Kept walking, not looking back...
Didn't stop or turn behind,
As I tried walking towards the finish line.

Nothing in my mind except the next step.
Jumped a puddle; avoided some hassles
Stamped a few; got involved
Everything lasted only for a while.

Took some time and I realised
Life should go on and it doesn't stop by.
People come and people go
But only I have to live my life alone.

How far is it true that other people live for you?
They do, till their next thing happens
When it does, they walk past you.
Only to come back, when there's nothing new.

They can't be blamed
As they have a life too,
Amidst constant battles
And never ending hassles.

I am tired at the end of the day
Wanna sleep... a peaceful slumber
With out any hindrance
With no disturbance...
just to sleep and never think of waking up.

Would that be the end of my life?
Where would I head to after I'm gone?
Another place, another time
Some new faces and few kind words?

Great poem there, Viji!

Isn't it ironic to realize that the one fact that shall last forever is that everything is ephemeral!?!

Very True lines dear!

A well written piece! You walk and walk till your road ends.

@ devasena.. I'm happy that you liked those lines... but you know howsoever you walk a road never ends..it leads to another and if it doesn't and you find yourself at a dead end, you will turn and start to walk back tracing the same path, same sights, familiar faces, that's what I meant by "Only to come back, when there's nothing new."
